itu perekrutannya gimana gan? mereka udah jadi pasukan sebelom Roma dateng atau emang direkrut trus dilatih dari awal? diliat dari perlengkapannya kebanyakan light infantry sama cavalary ya gan

Auxilia terutama direkrut dari peregrini, yaitu orang2 bebas (bukan budak) di wilayah/provinsi Kekaisaran Romawi yang tidak memegang kewarganegaraan Romawi dan merupakan sebagian besar penduduk Romawi di abad 1 dan 2 (sekitar 90% pada awal abad ke-1). Auxilia juga mungkin berasal dari warga negara Romawi dan mungkin barbar (barbari, sebutan orang Romawi bagi masyarakat berada di luar batas Kekaisaran). Ini berbeda dengan legiun, yang direkrut hanya dari warga negara Romawi.

Auxilia banyak macamnya gan mulai dari archer, slinger, light infantry, light cavalry, sampai heavy cavalry...bisa diliat di spoiler di atas...

unit ini terdiri dari warga miskin yang tidak punya cukup uang untuk membeli perlengkapan legiun. mereka dibekali beberapa pilum, gladius, dan perisai kecil. mereka juga memakai topi dari kulit serigala untuk membedakan dengan pasukan lain. velites adalah pasukan pendukung legiun

2. Hastati

unit ini adalah legiun miskin yang tidak mempunyai uang banyak untuk membeli perlengkapan terkini. lama kemudian, hastati terdiri dari kaum muda (meski lebih banyak orang miskin). posisi mereka adalah paling depan

3. Principes

legiun ini mempunyai uang yang lebih banyak sehingga mereka bisa membeli perlengkapan yang lebih berkualitas. mereka ditempatkan di baris kedua

hmm jadi prakteknya, yang miskin maju duluan biar dibantai duluan

pernah baca buku ttg pertempuran Romawi vs Kartago. salah satu taktik Romawi itu memutar-mutar barisan, jadi yg depan nanti lari ke belakang lewat sela-sela barisan di belakangnya, tukar tempat sehingga barisan depan selalu segar.

BTW thanks TS yg udah ngebuat trit ini, jadi tau ane kalo legiuner tuh ternyata harus beli sendiri perlengkapan tempurnya, pantes aja mereka jadi brutal kalo udah menang pertempuran


ane lebih suka horse archernya parthia daripada legiun romawi karena mereka mengandalkan takitik parthian shot (memanah sambil menghindar musuh).

sama-sama gan . tapi itu sebelum reformasi marian, setelahnya mereka jadi pasukan professional

Gw penasaran sama bobot nya itu keseluruhan armor baju, tameng, senjata, gile, apa ga berat ya gan, pdhal dalam perang kan ga cuma defensiv aja, tapi offensiv juga perlu, sedangkan klo berat gtu mana bisa bermanuver manuver ya, gerakan juga terbatasi

orang dulu kan gede-gede, kuat-kuat, makanya kuat pake perlengkapan perang gitu.
kalo offensive biasanya pake kavaleri (berat maupun ringan). soalnya mereka gampang bermanuver dari samping, dan kecepatan mereka.

tapi kalo orang china gimana tuh? pernah baca katanya perlengkapan infantri beratnya china sampe 20an kilo? fisiknya gimana tuh?
