penggunaan either di sini rada rancu. makanya kemaren saya nanya, maksudnya mau ngomong apa sih?

either/or itu dipake untuk milih salah satu.
- Either Mike or Lisa will be there.
- Either you leave me alone or I will call the police.
- We should bring either coffee or tea.
- You can either help us or go to your room.

contoh kalimat ini: Either hurt or not hurt, apakah milih salah satu?
ambil contoh kalimat yg ini deh:
Either Mike or Lisa will be there, artinya: kalau bukan mike, maka lisa yg akan datang.

sekarang bandingkan dengan kalimatnya octaa:
Either hurt or not hurt, I will still love you.
kalau diterjemahkan jadi: kalau tidak sakit, maka sakit, aku akan tetap mencintaimu.

hadehhhh.... ini maksudnya opo???capedes
kalau maksudnya, sakit tidak sakit, aku tetap mencintaimu, gak usah pake either...or...

makanya kemaren saya mengusulkan pake gaya shakespeareD
atau dirombak sama sekali.
whether you hurt me or not, i will still love you.

penggunaan either diawal kalimat menggunakan verb memang gak bisa ya bingungs ?

pernah baca salah satu quote yang grammarnya mirip dari seorang penyair yang bertuliskan
"Either do not attempt at all, or go through with it." by Ovid.

bukan masalah strukturnya, tapi semantik. either...or itu dipakai untuk milih salah satu. nah, kalau dipakai di kalimat agan octaa gak masuk jadinya.

yg saya tangkep, "apapun keadaannya, aku tetap cinta padamu". gak ada pilihan di situ.

semoga jelas maksudnya.

Kan saya udah bilang perbedaan kapan penggunaannya sama dengan perbedaan present simple tense & present perfect tense biasa / bentuk aktif hammer:
yang membedakan hanya antara aktif dan pasif

Kalau belum tau perbedaannya, baca2 dulu deh tentang dua tenses tersebut. \)

i'm afraid i don't follow you \)
i know nothing about norse mythology.

but seriously, "thanks, god" is okay. basically, thanks = thank you. so when you say, "thanks, god", it's the same as "thank you, god."

for instance, when you say grace before a meal: "thank you, lord/god for the food.", or like i said, when you're talking to your god in a prayer: "thanks, god, for giving me strength," etc.. etc...

however, TGIF = thank god it's friday.

Thank god = terima kasih tuhan (ucapan syukur biasa)
T̶h̶a̶n̶k̶s̶, ̶G̶o̶d̶ = ini kalau kita udah diakhirat atau kita seorang nabi yang bisa berbicara langsung ke Tuhan
T̶h̶a̶n̶k̶'̶s̶ ̶g̶o̶d̶ = umm

you don't have to die or be a prophet to talk to God amazed:

"thank god", when you translate it to indonesian, it's like 'syukurlah', or "untung".

thank god it's friday = syukurlah ini hari jumat
thank god i remember! = untung gw inget!

Mo nanya donk. Kalau cerita dalam bahasa inggris kan pake past tense, kalau ceritanya pake sudut pandang orang pertama gmn?

Contoh:
Quote:

My name is Obata Hangaku, and the one who has been speaking to me is Manai Sichiken. Maybe you are wondering about who we are and what we do. It’s simple: we are rangers, also known as the woods police.

atau ini yg bener?
Quote:

My name was Obata Hangaku, and the one who had been speaking to me is Manai Sichiken. Maybe you were wondering about who we were and what we did. It’s simple: we are rangers, also known as the woods police.

Satu lagi, kalau cerita itu masuknya dlm kategori apa? Kan ada news item etc..
