For some posts above on being a translator.

"Some translators may be created by hard work, some by chance, and some by mistake" Hope you are not the last one hehe

For whoever consider translation is a SIMPLE and EASY job: Remember some wars/fights/terrors happened because of MISTRANSLATION/INTERPRETATION.

I think you can try to improve and assess your skill in translating by working for Senior Translator or Translator Agency in your city.
You'd surely get lower income, but it's a good place to develop your skill.
If you already get more confidence, you can try to accept translation project on your own name.

I'm sure you can be successful translator in the future as long as you work hard and never give up D

here's one easy way to find translation jobs:

[*]do you have a translation portfolio (i.e. a sample translation that you yourself have done in the past)? yes? good. you'll need it.
[*]find as many non-governmental organizations in indonesia as possible (you can start here and here for now), locate their websites, and go to the 'Contact Us' section.
[*]write an email to them and sell yourself, attaching your translation portfolio. D remember, they have all had lots of experience with good (and bad) translators, so make sure you're making a good first impression.

good luck! \)

hello... \)

just wondering is it still a "hot job" by becoming an english translator...

because as we know that another language are already showed up as a great competitor for example : mandarin, korean, france....
in bali as a tour guide, the one who mastered mandarin are paid more than the one that only fluent in english language..

thanks for the attention :P and sorry for my bad english
