I finished a novel by J.D. Salinger called "The Catcher in the Rye" just now. But currently and forcedly have to read this book called "The Great Gatsby" to be honest, I don't really like it, though. I actually like a book that questions me and contains deep meaning through the story, if you know what I mean.

What about you? What books that you've read? Any recommendations of books for me to read after I finish “The Great Gatsby”?

I'm reading Norwegian Wood right now.. (it's a japanese novel, but i'm reading the english translation)

I haven't read novels for quite a while, but I enjoyed reading:
- The Alchemist (by Paulo Coelho)
- the earlier series of Harry Potter(by J. K. Rowling)
- Musashi (Eiji Yoshikawa)
- Memoirs of a Geisha (by Arthur Golden)
- The Lovely Bones (by Alice Sebold)
- Ingo (by Helen Dunmore)
- The Story Girl and The Golden Road (by L. M. Montgomery)

They are all quite easy to read~ they are nice reads to fill some time, unless you have read them before

I also have By The Light Of The Moon (by Dean Koontz) and Going to Pot (by Jill Laurimore), but I haven't read them. (only bought them because TGA had a sale )

what exactly is your definition of "books" here? because i've been able to read since I was about 3-4 years old, and i've read like hundreds,,, no,, thousands,,, heck, maybe even millions of books.
does comic books counts? or maybe engineering books about mass-energy balance, unit operations and fluid mechanics? or maybe an adult-theme novels?
my point is there's a very wide area of "book" themes, and to decide which one that I can recommend to you depends on what interest you have.
as for myself, I'm currently reading trinity's naked traveler.. I'm planning on going backpacking in the near future, and the naked traveler is a good book to read for that matter.

I've read Jane Eyre too, and I really enjoy it. I read the english copy, with yellowed paper and all since it was printed on 1970s (I don't really remember). But yeah, this novel was simple and maybe a little boring yet at the same time wonderful and romatic!

I've started read the Catcher in the Rye and haven't finished it yet, I don't know, it seems that I don't really enjoy that one.

If you want some valuable books, you could give Mitch Albom's works a try!

Latest book I read is "Banjir darah di kamp konsentrasi..." (Sorry, I forget continuation of the title )
It describes the situation in Indonesia in 60's , Well, the circumstance is so scary, massacre everywhere, Army kills civilian for such a politic reason , I don't know why our history books doesn't tell us about this

I'm reading Harry Potter 7, but in Indonesian

It's going to be the most amazing book I ever read. It is a classic american novel; The Great Gatsby by Fitgerald. And I also read a lot of lit.

I'm currently re-reading some of Agatha's books, I think some lighter books would do good to kill time in Ramadhan.
